Production Operative - Earn upto £10.85 per hour

Whittlesey is our purpose built Houseplants and Flowers operation, supplying Asda with their full range of bouquets, potted plants, and succulents.

There are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation.

As a Production Operative you will assist in managing the product (Houseplants and Flowers) flow through the line, quality sort and dress out defects, ensuring product specifications are met. You will ensure products are correctly packed and labelled to target in line with company and customer expectations and ensure that you report any defects or poor quality to Line Leader.

You will correctly pack finished goods safely, to specification standards and in the correct orientation within each tray and safely stack trays to a required height.

We currently have two shift patterns available: Sunday – Thursday: 8am – 4.45pm or Tuesday – Saturday: 8am – 4.45pm.  During peak seasonal events, there may be a requirement to work flexibly outside these shifts.

Previous experience of working in a fast-paced environment is essential, specifically within a manufacturing/packhouse/produce background is desirable.

You should have good practical skills and the ability to work quickly and methodically and within a team whilst have the ability to concentrate whilst doing repetitive tasks and follow instructions. 

With a ‘Can do’ attitude and proactive approach, you should have an understanding of health and safety policies in the work place and entry level in both written and spoken English.
