About the site

Sittingbourne is the second largest of our operations where we also pack fresh fruit and vegetables.

Our pack house is in operation 24 hours a day, employing over 500 colleagues. We offer a broad range of roles based at site from Quality Assurance to Site Planners, Warehouse Operatives to Shift Operation Managers. We also have a small of number of support roles to facilitate the day to day running of the operation

About the Role

We are looking for a QA Leader who will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the QA team, provide support and advise on quality assurance matters, represent the company during audits and be a driver in quality improvement initiatives.

The QA Leader will manage and motivate the QA Teams at our Sittingbourne site, ensuring all quality assurance tasks are completed accurately so that Food Safety, Legality and Quality is assured and verified at all times with results communicated in a timely manner.

You will be the subject matter QA expert and actively lead the teams, with the use of training and coaching to maximise quality, yield and efficiency with minimal waste of material.

You will be responsible for adherence to both IPL’s policy and all laws and regulations pertaining to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety on site working closely with operations and procurement teams to ensure a ‘right first time’ approach is maintained throughout the process.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off DAYS – 7am – 7pm

What are we looking for?

Previous experience working in a manufacturing/packaging environment with fresh produce in a QA leadership role is essential for this role along with HACCP and BRC/Red Tractor experience.

You should be a natural leader and communicator with the ability to organise both time and resource within the team. With a high level of accuracy you should be a systematic, logical and precise individual who can be assertive and willing to challenge, when appropriate.

Previous Internal Audit experience and the writing of Standard Operating Procedures is desirable, along with HACCP level 3 and previous BRC Internal Auditor experience.
