About the site

Telford is our nuts and dried fruit facility based in Shropshire, producing a range of snacks and cereals for Asda stores.

There are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation.

About the Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Production Operative to join the IPL team at our IPL Telford site.

*Please note this position is a manual role and does require some heavy lifting*

Shift Pattern: Rotating - 5.30am to 2.30pm Mon - Thurs & 5.30am to 12.30pm Fri / 2.00pm to 11pm Mon - Thurs/ & 12.00pm to 7pm Fri

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to a ‘clean-as-you-go’ approach following safe working practices. 

  • Carry out all tasks outlined in the IPL training matrix applicable to this role using productive manufacturing methods.

  • Assist in managing the product flow through the line, quality sort produce and dress out defects, ensuring product specifications are met.  Report defects or poor quality to Line Leader.

  • Ensure products are correctly packed to target in line with company and customer expectations.

  • Label, Weigh & Pack produce as required/trained.

  • Correctly pack finished goods safely, to specification standards and in the correct orientation within each tray.

  • Safely stack trays to required height.

  • Promote good working relationships as an integral part of the team.

  • Carry out any additional tasks as trained.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Working in a fast moving environment

  • Previous manufacturing/produce/factory experience is desirable

  • Good practical skills

  • The ability to work quickly and methodically

  • Good team working skills

  • The ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks

  • Be able to follow instructions

  • A willingness to work flexibly

  • Willing to take to be developed and trained for the requirements of this role

  • Entry level in both written & spoken English.

  • ‘Can do’ attitude and proactive approach

  • Good team worker
