About the site

Normanton is home to our head office and is also the largest of our operational sites where we pack fresh fruit, salad and vegetables. Several of our Group support functions are headquartered in Normanton which include Commercial, IT, Finance, People Team and our Planning Teams.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain and Materials planner (Advisor – BU Planning) to join the IPL team at our Head Office Normanton, Working within the Produce Planning team, you will be part of a fast paced, challenging and stimulating environment.

You will play an integral part of the global supply chain for the edible produce category moving £740m cog’s from over 56 source countries and in excess of 410 suppliers. You will support the business to ensure that Asda receive high quality products in the most efficient manner.

The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm plus 1 day of every 5th weekend (which will be exchanged for a day off through the week).

Key Responsibilities include:

· Maintaining the data integrity of the Materials Requirement Planning System (MRP) and Bills of Materials (BOM’S)

· Communication of any variation to plan that may impact internal and external stakeholders – Ranging from hauliers, suppliers, commercial and production teams

· Maintain correct stock levels to meet operational requirements whilst minimising waste

· Ensuring customer orders are met on time in full in line with Asda’s low cost operating model

· Assist in the delivery of continuous improvement strategies

Skills and Experience required:

· Previous experience in fresh produce / food environment

· Strong use of Microsoft Office

· Able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the business including external customers

· High attention to detail, ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure

· To be able to work well as part of a team

· Planning experience in a fast moving consumer goods environment

· Use of a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system (Desirable)
