About the site

Whittlesey is our purpose built Houseplants and Flowers operation, supplying Asda with their full range of bouquets, potted plants, and succulents.

There are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation

About the role

We now have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join the IPL team based at our Whittlesey site, Cambridgeshire.

Please note this role is working Sunday - Thursday – 8am to 4.45pm

This is a Fixed Term Contract, due to end on 26/09/2023.

Hourly Pay of £10.50, with the opportunity to earn up to £11.00 per hour, with bonus.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • This role covers plants and flowers.
  • Complete Product inspections to ensure Product & Packaging is within ASDA specification
  • To complete a full quality assurance inspection of products arriving on site.
  • Completion of accurate QA reports without impacting the operation.
  • Fast Track positive release of products to Depot
  • To interact with the site operations to ensure compliance is being maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that Vase life is carried out as per the site schedule.
  • Competitor vase life completion as per site and relevant team request.
  • On line inspections as per the site requirement against all Asda specifications.
  • Completion of all systems and line documentation within operations.
  • Complete all raw material documentation and effectively communicate to Country offices colleagues and relevant grower base.
  • Randomly inspect finished goods against FG specification
  • To promptly act within production online inspection s following depot communications.
  • Report any quality issues to quality Shift Operations Leader and planning functions.
  • A flexible shift working approach – for seasonal events/campaigns

Skills and experience required

  • Experience of working in a factory environment
  • Previous QA experience is desirable
  • Good IT skills – including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Houseplants and Flowers
  • A natural communicator and team worker
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Accurate and concise decision making.
  • Assertive (willing to be able to challenge the norm)
  • HACCP Knowledge – Desirable
