About the site

Normanton is home to our head office and is also the largest of our operational sites where we pack fresh fruit, salad and vegetables.

Several of our support functions are based here as well as the majority of our Commercial and Buying teams. Our pack house is in operation 24 hours a day and 364 days a year, employing over 700 colleagues. We offer a broad range of roles based at site from Production Operatives to Technical Managers, Business Unit Administrators to IT Specialists.

About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Controllership Analyst to join our Finance team based in our Head Office, Normanton.

Reporting into the Financial Controllership Manager the analyst position blends both accounting and compliance areas of the team, ensuring a robust controlled environment.

Accounting and control responsibilities including:

  • Capex and fixed asset accounting and balance sheet reconciliation preparation

  • VAT and duty accounting, including preparation of VAT returns, HMRC intrastat and other submissions, balance sheet reconciliations

  • Overseas accounting support

  • Central provision accounting and reconciliations

  • Key controllership month end colleague

Compliance responsibilities including:

  • Supporting the Group Financial Controller with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act /Anti-Corruption control reviews to ensure the IPL Group companies are compliant with the Walmart framework

  • Leadership of initiatives around process efficiencies and continuous improvement

  • Administration of compliance programmes, coordination of internal and external testing and meetings, liaising with internal and external stakeholders

  • Targeted internal monitoring of controls with issues highlighted for remedial action

  • Delivering internal compliance training as required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Current or imminent CIMA studier

  • Advanced Excel and power point skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent communication at all levels

  • Ability to work cross functionally

  • Teamwork, flexibility and effective communication skills

  • Confident challenging at multiple levels
