About the site

Sittingbourne is the second largest of our operations where we also pack fresh fruit and vegetables.

Our pack house is in operation 24 hours a day, employing over 500 colleagues. We offer a broad range of roles based at site from Quality Assurance to Site Planners, Warehouse Operatives to Shift Operation Managers. We also have a small of number of support roles to facilitate the day to day running of the operation

About the role

We are seeking a Hygienist – Food Production (Days) to join IPL Ltd to work at our site in Sittingbourne

Reporting into the Hygiene Team Leader you will ensure all cleaning cards and Cleaning schedules are completed to the required standards. You will also ensure all H&S and compliance policies and procedures are followed at all times.

*Please note the shift pattern for this role is Days – 4 on 4 off shift - working 7am to 7pm

You will:

  • Effectively communicate to Hygiene supervisor/Shift Operations Leader/Area Leader regarding any issues or concerns over any hygiene issues within shift.

  • Keep operational areas clean and to high standards.

  • Ensure that all training is adhered to and all required areas are controlled to meet BRC and COSHH standards.

  • Working to a timely manner as to maximize efficiency and completing additional tasks at quieter periods.

  • Handle chemicals as per COSHH training and regulations.

  • Comply with Hygiene Cleaning Schedule

  • Record all completed Hygiene on relevant sign off sheets.

  • Comply with existing Cleaning Instruction cards and SOP’s

  • Undertake all aspects of hygiene within non-operational areas, this includes offices, rest room, corridors and the cleaning of the canteen

Skills and experience required

  • Good level of understanding of the English language

  • Understanding of health and safety policies in the work place

  • Food Safety Level 1 or equivalent

  • COSHH certification

  • Experience of working with factory environment

  • Good practical skills

  • The ability to work quickly and methodically

  • Good team working skills

  • The ability to follow instructions

  • An awareness of Health & Safety

  • A willingness to work flexibly

  • Willing to take any training required for this role

  • Previous Hygiene experience - desirable
