About the site

Telford is our nuts and dried fruit facility based in Shropshire, producing a range of snacks and cereals for Asda stores.

There are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation.

About the Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join the IPL team at our IPL Telford site. You will conduct regular inspections to ensure product and packaging meets all Asda specifications.

Shift:  Rotating 5.30am to 2.30pm Mon to Thurs, Fri 5.30am to 12.30pm/ 2.00pm to 11pm Mon to Thurs, Fri 12pm to 7pm

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Completion of accurate QA reports without impacting the operation

  • Accurate and timely communication of audit issues to relevant departments

  • QA audits to monitor compliance to BRC and Asda requirements

  • Conduct Calibration checks and inbound inspections of materials

  • Support production trials

  • Verification of hygiene standards, barcode quality and product recipes

  • Stock rotation, stock checking & ordering of QA consumables

  • Effective Investigation and Communication of Food Safety, Quality or Legality issues

  • Coaching colleagues in the policies and procedures

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous QA experience within fast moving environment (production/factory/warehouse)

  • Excellent IT Skills and command of Microsoft packages

  • Minimum level 2 Food Hygiene

  • HACCP Knowledge (level 2 or 3 is desirable)

  • Good team worker with good communication skills

  • Experience in Risk Assessment tools

  • Confident decision maker with attention to detail
