About the site

Telford is our nuts and dried fruit facility based in Shropshire, producing a range of snacks and cereals for Asda stores.

There are a number of support roles on site with the majority of colleagues working within our operation.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen at our Telford for a Warehouse Key Operative working on a rotating Day shift. 

Shift:  Rotating 5.30am to 2.30pm Mon to Thurs, Fri 5.30am to 12.30pm/ 2.00pm to 11pm Mon to Thurs, Fri 12pm to 7pm

Working along-side the Operations team, the key responsibilities of this role will be to provide accurate and prompt picking, packing and dispatch of the depot warehouse goods. The role requirements are to complete various warehouse tasks, as safely, accurately and as efficiently as possible upholding the highest standards of health and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities will include:-

  • Undertake MHE truck duties as required, ensuring daily safety checks are conducted thoroughly and company warehouse guidelines observed

  • Supporting production by supplying ingredients, film and packaging in a timely manner

  • Undertake receipt and checking of incoming stock in line with company goods inprocess, ensuring all Label and Temperature disciplines are completed as appropriate, and product is correctly located within the warehouse

  • Ensure all pallets are safely loaded and each pallet carries the Company’s pallet I.D labels, Destination labels and mixed pallet labels.

  • Ensure all stock is stored, handled and transported securely and in line with Company procedures, food hygiene legislation, Allergen Controls and health and safety guidelines.

  • Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, and complies with company and legislative standards at all times

  • Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others

  • Ensure all waste is disposed of safely and in line with company processes, segregating waste as necessary.

  • Ensure individual targets / KPI’s are achieved in line with Warehouse Standards and Performance Reviews.

  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork, relating to Goods In/Goods Out/Picking is completed in full at all times.

  • Ensure MHE machinery is driven correctly at all times in line with Endorsement Policy/Health and Safety Policy.

  • Support and assist newly appointed or less experienced colleagues by providing training and guidance as appropriate

  • Report all near misses and accidents to management

Experience and Skills Required

  • The possession of a valid FLT Licence

  • Manual Handling Trained and experience

  • Basic Food Safety trained

  • Understanding of warehousing/store processes and procedures

  • Good communication skills

  • Flexible and have the ability to work under pressure

  • Good attention to detail

  • Previous experience in a similar role within produce is desirable

  • PPT licence is desirable

  • Health and Safety certification is desirable
