About the site

Ackton is our purpose built, state of the art banana ripening facility.

Based just a few minutes up the road from our Head Office, here you will also find our People and Finance teams, along with a number of Operational based roles.

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Ackton site near Normanton, West Yorkshire. The key responsibilities of this role will be to provide accurate and prompt receipt, picking, packing and dispatch of the depot warehouse goods. The role requirements are to complete various warehouse tasks, as safely, accurately and as efficiently as possible upholding the highest standards of health and safety at all times.

Shift Pattern: 5 on 2 off - 7am - 3.45pm. Rotating on a 4 week rota. Please note this pattern does involve weekend working

Key duties include:

  • To ensure product is received in a correct and timely manner ensuring all appropriate paperwork is completed and forwarded together with delivery notes to the Operations Administrator.

  • To receive deliveries accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • To assist with the despatching of finished goods accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • To work in accordance with the load plan highlighting any issues with the appropriate colleague or team.

  • To ensure the accurate scanning in and out of products and completing paperwork correctly and in line with Company guidelines.

  • To ensure all checks are correctly completed and all documentation is compliant with Company guidelines.

  • Pick orders in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • To ensure that all product is adequately labelled and stored at the correct temperature at all times

  • To ensure that the cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse area, stores and outside yard.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience of working within a large, fast-paced Warehouse and an understanding of warehousing processes and procedures

  • Good communication and team working skills, along with the ability to work flexibly

  • Experience of working within a targeted environment and ability to work under pressure

  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures and application within a Warehouse site

  • FLT/PPT licenses are desirable along with previous experience of working in a food environment
